Geoffrey Talboy, Principal

Shelia Dannar, Vice Principal

Sheila Dannar has completed an Educational Specialist degree at UMKC and is beginning her 23rd year as an educator in KCPS. She initially attended the University of Missouri – Columbia and obtained an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. She began teaching Spanish at Bingham Middle School in KCPS and later taught 4th grade at East Elementary School. After completing a Masters in Urban Leadership and Policy Studies at UMKC, Ms. Dannar began as an administrator in KCPS and has served in both elementary and middle schools prior to coming to East High School for the 2018-19 school year.

Bryan VanOsdale, Vice Principal

I am in my 20th year in education. I obtained a BS in Secondary Ed- Social Sciences and Business Administration, MS in Educational Psychology and Counseling, MA in Gender and Racial Studies, and my Ed.S in Educational Administration and Leadership. I am from East Tennessee and lived in Kansas City for 15 years. I am in my 6th year in KCPS. I spent 4 years at Whittier Elementary. Prior to coming to KCPS I was a social studies teacher in the secondary school at Derrick Thomas Academy. I will be in starting my second year at East. I take great pride in our global diversity at East High School. Go Bears!!!

 

Rachel Rozell, Assistant Principal

Rachel Rozell, an educator for 22 years, currently serves as the Assistant Principal of East High School. She has previously served as a CTE Business Teacher and Mentor. Ms. Rozell enjoys church, reading, journaling, traveling, sewing, arts and crafts, construction, swimming, volunteering and spending time with family and friends. She believes in enjoying life by being of service to others. She lives by the quote, “Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift”. If given the opportunity, SUCCESS can be a guarantee.
